Yesterday I went to the see an exhibition of Japanese woodblock prints at the Chester Beatty Library in the grounds of Dublin Castle. 'One Hundred Aspects of the Moon', by the artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, is a collection of 100 portraits, each linked to phases of the moon. The fine detail and vibrant colours of the prints, as well as the links to Japanese history and folklore, make this an exhibition worth seeing, particularly if you have an interest in Japanese culture.
The collection will be on show until February 17th, 2008.

I enjoyed that so much, especially the colourful Shinto one you show but also "moon of enlightenmen", "reading by moonligh", Chang E flies to the moon", "Chinese beauty holding a string instrument", ..., "moon of the filial son", "Inaba mountain moon", "Bon fesival moon", " acounty couple enjoys the mooligh with their infant son", "moon and smoke", cooling off at Shijo" and " aglimpse of the moon".
